Here is the true story of Little Red Riding Hood!

Picking Flowers

Little Red Riding Hood Picking Flowers

One sunny day, Little Red Riding Hood decided to go outside and play. She was running through the fields, chasing butterflies, and enjoying the sun shine. While running through the fields she found more and more beautiful flowers. Little Red Riding Hood remembered her mother telling her that her grandma was sick. So Little Red Riding Hood decided to pick a bunch of flowers and take them to her grandma's house in a village near by.

While picking the flowers Little Red Riding Hood noticed a gray animal off in the distance. Earlier that day her neighbor had lost their dog. She decided to go and catch him and return him to his home. When she got closer she realized that it was not their dog, it was a wolf! As quiet as she could she turned around to get out of there with out the wolf noticing her. She was trying her hardest to be quiet and go fast all at the same time. Luckily she was pretty close to the village her grandma lived in.

Finally she was a few steps away from her grandma's village when all of a sudden her grandma's neighbor yelled, "watch out there is a wolf right behind you!"

Quickly she turned around to see him staring her in the eyes. She was slowly walking backwards trying not to make him mad. "Find someone to shot this animal" Little Red Riding Hood yelled at the neighbor.

"Are you serious?" the neighbor questioned. "These animals are endangered species."

"I know, but he is going to kill me don't you see his teeth showing," Little Red Riding Hood stated firmly.

"I will call Fish and Game to come and trap him", the neighbor decided.

"We don't have time for that", Little Red Riding Hood stated in fear. "Please shot him, please!"

Little Red Riding Hood was afraid to turn her back to him so she kept walking backwards trying to get away from the wolf. The wolf was not going anywhere, he was after her. After a few more steps backwards, Little Red Riding Hood let out a scream. The wolf had his two front feet up in the air ready to attack, then BANG. The wolf landed on top of Little Red Riding Hood with no life left in him.

A woodsman off in the distance heard her scream looked up just in time to see him up in the air about to attack her. The man came over grabbed the wolf off of her and stood her up.

"Thank you so much for saving my life", Little Red Riding Hood said thankfully. "My grandma's neighbor does not like to shot the wolves."

"Your welcome. I am just so glad I was on my way home when I was or you would have been wolf supper" the woodsman stated.

-----------------------------------------

The moral of this story is, sometimes when someone is in danger, even the endangered species need to be controlled. If all the elk and deer are getting hard for the wolf to find they will move on to killing other things. They can not wait for the elk and deer to reproduce just to eat, they need food too. So when there are too many wolves in one area, it is hard for them all to get enough food. That is why I think there needs to be a regulated hunting season.

To Grandma's House We Go!

Little Red Riding Hood to Grandma's House

One morning Little Red Riding Hood woke up thinking about her grandma, who she had not seen in a while. She thought it would be nice to take her some breakfast and visit with her a while.

"I have not seen grandma in a while, so I am going to go see her. I am going to stop and grab some muffins for us to eat" Little Red Riding Hood told her mother.

"Ok dear, be careful. Make sure you go strait to the market, then strait to grandma's house."

"I will mother, thank you" Little Red Riding Hood replied.

Little Red Riding Hood headed out the door to the market. She was awful hungry so she was going kind of fast. She kept hearing foot steps behind her, but did not pay much attention. Finally she arrived at her grandma's house. She knocked quietly as she entered her house. All the lights were turned off and she did not know why.

"Hi there Grandma! Why are all of your lights turned off?" she questioned.

"Here, I will turn them on for you."

"No, no dear!" She quickly replied. "Please, leave them off."

"Grandma! Your voice sounds so different. What is wrong?" she asked.

"Oh, I just have a little cold," coughing to make it sound like she was sick.

"But Grandma! What big ears you have," said Little Red Riding Hood as she came closer to the bed.

"The better to hear you with, my dear," replied the wolf.

"But Grandma! What big eyes you have," said Little Red Riding Hood.

"The better to see you with, my dear," replied the wolf.

"But Grandma! What big teeth you have," said Little Red Riding Hood shivering scarcely.

"The better to eat you with, my dear," roared the wolf as he jumped out of the bed and began to chase the little girl.

Little Red Riding Hood ran out the door screaming "WOLF, WOLF, WOLF".

Off in the distance a Fish and Game man heard Little Red Riding Hood scream. He quickly ran to see what the matter was.He saw Little Red Riding Hood running with a wolf chasing her. The Fish and Game man quickly grabbed his tranquilizer gun and shot the wolf.

"Thank you so much mister", Little Red Riding Hood said very thankfully. "You saved my life".

"Your welcome little one, that is what I am her for, to help protect you and relocate any wolfs that are endangering people."

The man carried the wolf deep into the forest where he wouldn't bother people any longer.

--------------------------------------

The moral of this story is that Fish and Game can capture the wolves and relocate them. I think there are too many here in Idaho and something needs to be done. Either a regulated hunting season for wolves, or they need to be relocated.

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood = Elk population

One night, Little Red Riding Hood and her family were making new red capes for each others Christmas presents. When all of a sudden Little Red Riding Hood screamed, "Oh no!"

Her father frantically replies, "What, what is the matter?"
"We are all out of red material", she stated in distress.
"Well, you better run to the store and get some more. And take your brothers and sisters with you."

"Good idea. Well, we will be back soon."

While skipping through the woods to the store, they kept hearing a crunching noise. Little Red Riding Hood would stop, look, and listen. She did not see anything. By the 3rd time of hearing the noise she decided to ask, "Who's there?" She did not get a response so her and her brothers and sisters picked up the pace and headed for the store. All of a sudden, someone came from behind, grabbed them, covered their mouths, and pulled them into the bushes. Their grip was so tight no one could even scream.

"Little Red Riding Hood it is okay. We are hunters, we are not going to hurt you", the man said.
"How did you know my name?" she asked.
"Well, I didn't know it was your name until now. You are wearing a red cape and The Big Bad Wolf is following you, so that is what I decided to call you."
"Oh, ok", she replied. "Wait, what? The Big Bad Wolf, oh no!"
"It's okay Little Red Riding Hood, remember I am a hunter. We will take care of him", the man said strongly.

"But, I thought it was against the law to kill them?" she questioned.

"It is", he replied. "But he is endangering you. If he kills you and your brothers and sisters then the Little Red Riding Hood population will start to disappear because he will kill all the Little Red Riding Hood's out there."

"Ok, thank you very much kind sir", she stated thankfully.

"Look, there he is", the youngest one pointing at the wolf.

"Everyone, cover your ears it's going to be loud", one of the hunters stated.

BANG, his gun goes off killing The Big Bad Wolf. Little Red Riding Hood and her brothers and sisters were able to continue their way to the store and return home safely to finish their red capes.

--------------------------------------------

The moral of this story is, if the wolves are left alone to die of natural causes, they will over populate. They will also kill all the elk and deer along with the hunters killing the elk and deer too. So I think we need to have a regulated hunting season for wolves each year.
