Little Red Riding Hood to Grandma's House
One morning Little Red Riding Hood woke up thinking about her grandma, who she had not seen in a while. She thought it would be nice to take her some breakfast and visit with her a while.
"I have not seen grandma in a while, so I am going to go see her. I am going to stop and grab some muffins for us to eat" Little Red Riding Hood told her mother.
"Ok dear, be careful. Make sure you go strait to the market, then strait to grandma's house."
"I will mother, thank you" Little Red Riding Hood replied.
Little Red Riding Hood headed out the door to the market. She was awful hungry so she was going kind of fast. She kept hearing foot steps behind her, but did not pay much attention. Finally she arrived at her grandma's house. She knocked quietly as she entered her house. All the lights were turned off and she did not know why.
"Hi there Grandma! Why are all of your lights turned off?" she questioned.
"Here, I will turn them on for you."
"No, no dear!" She quickly replied. "Please, leave them off."
"Grandma! Your voice sounds so different. What is wrong?" she asked.
"Oh, I just have a little cold," coughing to make it sound like she was sick.
"But Grandma! What big ears you have," said Little Red Riding Hood as she came closer to the bed.
"The better to hear you with, my dear," replied the wolf.
"But Grandma! What big eyes you have," said Little Red Riding Hood.
"The better to see you with, my dear," replied the wolf.
"But Grandma! What big teeth you have," said Little Red Riding Hood shivering scarcely.
"The better to eat you with, my dear," roared the wolf as he jumped out of the bed and began to chase the little girl.
Little Red Riding Hood ran out the door screaming "WOLF, WOLF, WOLF".
Off in the distance a Fish and Game man heard Little Red Riding Hood scream. He quickly ran to see what the matter was.He saw Little Red Riding Hood running with a wolf chasing her. The Fish and Game man quickly grabbed his tranquilizer gun and shot the wolf.
"Thank you so much mister", Little Red Riding Hood said very thankfully. "You saved my life".
"Your welcome little one, that is what I am her for, to help protect you and relocate any wolfs that are endangering people."
The man carried the wolf deep into the forest where he wouldn't bother people any longer.

The moral of this story is that Fish and Game can capture the wolves and relocate them. I think there are too many here in Idaho and something needs to be done. Either a regulated hunting season for wolves, or they need to be relocated.

This is a very interesting spin on the Little Red Riding Hood story! It's very interesting to me because I know absolutely nothing hunting or about the hunting regulations set in place today... are there not any hunting regulations concerning wolves? Do you know how many wolves populate Idaho? I'm also curious about Fish and Game; how involved are they when it comes to the killing of wolves or an issue with the safety of a person and/or livestock? There were always articles in the local newspaper talking about the wolf population and things being done to ensure the safety of the wolves, as well as the farmer’s livestock, but I never read them. Do you know how serious the problem of losing livestock to wolves was (or still is)? Also, if the decision to relocate some of the wolves was made where do you think they would be moved to?
The wolves in Idaho are on the endangered species list right now so no one is allowed to shot them. I'm not sure on the exact number of wolves, but I do know it is close to 700. Fish and Game allow you to kill a wolf if they are injuring a person or livestock, but most be reported to them immediatly. Well, I would probaly say to relocate them back to canada where they came from. But Fish and Game would probably know the places where the wolf population is lower.
